The Sedona Hummingbird Festival presents Kids Day!
Saturday July 26th  10am-2pm

Our first Kids Day in 2024 was tremendously popular, and we are thrilled to bring it back with even more activities. Check back as we add more descriptions.

Sonoran Reptiles

10am – 2pm
Representatives from Sonoran Reptiles will be on hand with live snakes, lizards, and other creatures. A great opportunity to get up close and personal with these important local residents!

Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary

10am – 2pm
Representatives from Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary  will be on hand with activities for kids and live animals to see and interact with:  insects, spiders, reptiles, and a small mammal.  Through educating the public, Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary hopes to help ensure the sustained existence of wildlife species throughout the world. This is a great opportunity to learn about the animals and about what you can see when you visit Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary. HPZS is open every day of the year and located off of Willow Creek Road across from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, at 1403 Heritage Park Road in Prescott.

Moonlight the Western Screech Owl

10am – Noon
Moonlight is an educational ambassador for Runnin’ W Wildlife Rehab Center in Cornville.  Moonlight was hit by a car and suffered eye damage that has left him partially blind and unable to return to the wild.  He uses his good looks to help educate people about the important of birds of prey in our ecosystem and how to protect them.

Crafts and Mural Painting with Joan Bourque

10am – 2pm
Kids will have the opportunity to create hummingbird crafts and paint a beautiful pollinator mural that we will display in our traveling both and in future festivals.

Painting Faces by Rose

10am – 2pm

Rose uses high quality cosmetic, FDA  approved paints and glitter to create fun face art.

Madam Eileen’s Balloon Creations

10am – 2pm
Madam Eileen returns with her fabulous balloon creations. She will create a wonderful balloon souvenir to bring home.

Samantha Daissy Sweets

10am – 5pm
Samantha Daissy Sweets offers just what kids want on a hot day: lemonade, popsicles, mini-donuts and other sweet treats!

Marguerite Young Storyteller Butterfly

10am – 2pm
Dressed as a butterfly, Marguerite Young will circulate, tell stories, and in exchange for a donation to the International Hummingbird Society, offer her great-aunt’s beautifully illustrated alphabet book “The Insect Wonderland” to youngsters curious about the insect world.

Community Library Sedona

10am – 2pm

Staff from the Community Library Sedona will offer hummingbird-themed crafts and activities for kids.

Yarn Tails

10am – 5pm

Stop by and see the plush wildlife creatures made from yarn. Wonderfully soft and original children’s gifts.
